Weekly Web Editor Updates

What's New
This week's web editor update adds new flexibility to Wind Mitigation special form and comment configuration, with fixes to template export reliability thrown in for good measure.
Why It Matters
Inspectors get more control over how photos and comments are structured in published reports, and template exports are now far less likely to fail without explanation.
Details
2026 Wind Mitigation: Custom Photo Category Comments
  • Inspectors can now create custom photo category comments within the Additional Information > Photos Item section of the 2026 Wind Mitigation template
  • Custom categories render as labeled groupings in the published PDF, with photos organized under their respective headers
  • Empty photo categories are automatically suppressed from PDF output — no label or section appears if no photos are uploaded
  • The default Photos comment remains unchanged as a catch-all for uncategorized photos

2026 Wind Mitigation: Roof Coverings Section Column Text Rendering
  • More text now renders in Roof Coverings columns; however, very long text will continue to be cut off

Multiple Choice Now Available for Defect and Limitation Comments
  • Multiple Choice is now an available comment type option for Defect and Limitation comments in the web editor
  • Checkbox remains the default; Multiple Choice is an additional option
  • Matches existing comment type behavior in the mobile app and template editor
  • Existing Defect and Limitation comments retain their current configuration without disruption
Template Export Reliability
  • Fixed silent export failures caused by text content exceeding Excel's character limit
  • Fixed export crashes affecting admin users in certain account configurations
  • Exports now complete reliably instead of failing without explanation
